Week 13 2022 NFL Power Rankings

I do not like what I see when I look at most NFL Power Rankings online. For example, I love what’s going on in Minnesota this year, but the Vikings are currently hovering right around the #6 spot on most Power Rankings. With a defense that hemorrhages as much purple defensive yardage as they do, a #6 rating is much too high.

I decided to create my own Power Rankings algorithm to see how closely it would compare to Power Rankings found online. To eliminate any personal biases, these rankings strictly use only the following elements – no subjectivity allowed!

• Wins vs losses
• Points scored vs points allowed
• Total team yardage gained vs yardage allowed
• Strength of schedule
• And, lastly, all but the 10 most recent games are ignored. (I want current power rankings – not rankings from months ago.)

When the numbers are matriculated through the computational blender, and baked at 375° for 45 minutes, the Football Weblog Power Rankings are complete.
