Because of the ongoing mess caused by COVID-19 issues, the NFL made some tweaks to the Week 4 schedule:

  • Sunday’s Indianapolis Colts at Chicago Bears game was moved from 1:00 PM ET to 4:25 PM ET.
  • The New England Patriots-Kansas City Chiefs game – originally scheduled for Sunday – will be played today, Monday, October 5 at 7:05 p.m. ET.
  • The Atlanta Falcons-Green Bay Packers game will shift to an 8:50 p.m. ET start today.

Football Weblog’s One Page Schedules have been updated to reflect these changes.  Click the blue NFL Schedules button below to be taken to the NFL Schedules page, or you can always access this page from the menu.

Imagine being cooped up in a house for ages because of sub-zero temps in a Narnia-like frozen land, only to wake up the next morning to summer-like weather that promises to quickly melt the snow and change the eternal winter into a vibrant, green springtime. That’s what the start to this year’s NFL season feels like.

And with no preseason games this year, the start of the season is that much more sudden. Normally we’re slowly acclimated to the upcoming season as the preseason progresses. Not this year. It’s a sudden winter-to-summer transition. And it seems too good to be real.

As I write this, the NFL season is set to kick off in three days. To help acclimate yourself, the NFL has published its annual NFL Kickoff Guide. The 2020 NFL Kickoff Guide is a 186-page colorful digest filled with interesting tidbits that outlines teams, players, coaches – and just about anything else NFL-related.

Click the blue NFL Publications button below or select NFL Publications from Football Weblog’s menu. You’ll be taken to the NFL Publications page with access to the 2020 NFL Kickoff Guide, as well as other NFL docs dating back to 2014.

Break out your swimming trunks and bikinis, boys and girls! The NFL is heating up!

A Catholic high school had a legendary football team. Every year, the team advanced deep in the playoffs and was a perennial power. Every able lad within a few hundred miles wanted to play football for the St. Olaf Crimson Crusaders.

Those who were familiar with the program knew that the true heart and soul of the Crimson Crusaders football program was Sister Della Grace, an aged nun who would, in full habit, get out on the practice field and work on routes with the receivers, give pointers to the quarterbacks on their stances and releases, but most of all, love them like the second mother that she became to all of the boys in that program.

One year, on the eve of the state championship game, some spiteful lowlifes broke into the convent and kidnapped Sister Della Grace. Everyone was stunned by the news, but none more so than the Crimson Crusaders of St. Olaf. They were devastated at the loss of their mentor.

As you might guess, the state championship game didn’t go very well. For the first time in the history of the football program, the Crimson Crusaders were shut out. The Spartans beat them 42-0.

The next day, the headline of the local newspaper read: “NO OFFENSE, NUN TAKEN”.

In the 1966 sci-fi/adventure film Fantastic Voyage, brilliant scientist Dr. Jan Benes develops a way to miniaturize matter by shrinking individual atoms. Using a similar technique, Football Weblog has shrunk the entire 256 game NFL schedule onto a single sheet of letter size paper. How fantastic is that?

Football Weblog’s One Page NFL Schedules updated weekly with game scores were all the rage this past NFL season. Football fans loved the clean, vintage layout that was kept up-to-date with scores from the most recent games.

In the same unpretentious style, Football Weblog now presents a One Page NFL Playoff Bracket. Like the One Page NFL Schedule, the bracket is in PDF format ready to print perfectly on an 8-1/2” x 11” sheet of paper.

The plan for 2020-21 is to update the One Page NFL Playoff Bracket each day during the post-season with playoff game results. Of course, I’m a little late for the 2019-20 season, but I’m posting this season’s playoff results anyway for those of you that would like to display the bracket alongside the One Page NFL Schedule and/or NFL Standings during the off-season.

To access the bracket, click the blue 2019 NFL Playoff Bracket button below, or select Printables > NFL Playoff Bracket from Football Weblog’s menu.

I trust you’ll like the new One Page NFL Playoff Bracket, but if there’s any additional information you think should be included in the bracket, or if you have any other suggestions, please feel free to contact me.
