The NFL uses “flexible scheduling” on Sundays in Weeks 11-17. This gives them an opportunity to reschedule games that promise more dramatic interest into primetime television slots. The NFL recently announced the following December 20th flexible schedule changes for week 15:

  • The Arizona Cardinals will play the Philadelphia Eagles at 8:30 PM ET instead of 1:00 PM ET.
  • The Cincinnati Bengals will play the San Francisco 49ers at 2:25 PM ET instead of 8:30 PM ET.

I’ve updated the Football Weblog One Page 2015 Schedule to include these changes. The links to these ready-to-print PDF forms are below. Enjoy!

“Beasts of the East” my tuckus!  The NFC East Division is more like the “Deceased of the East”.  The top three teams in the division — the Redskins, Eagles, and Giants — all sport anemic 5-7 records, while the Cowboys are in striking distance of the division crown, one game back, at 4-8.  Shakin’ my head here.  All that being said, it is pretty cool that one of these struggling teams will qualify for post-season play.  Drama is in the air!

Post the NFC East standings, along with all the other NFL teams, in your cubicle at work or home office with Football Weblog’s Printable Standings.  It’s a colorful way to wear your football fandom on your sleeve!

My apologies for the late December calendar.  I was dreaming about a football game, and it went into overtime.  😛

Football Weblog’s calendar comes in two different formats.  The first is ready to print on two standard 8½ x 11 sheets of paper.  Once printed, just display the papers taped or pinned together.  The second format is for those of you that own a printer that supports 11 x 17 paper.  The entire month — picture and calendar — fits neatly on one tabloid-sized paper.  Select the format you’d prefer from the links below.

What an incredible finish to last night’s Green Bay-Detroit game!  In case you didn’t hear, the Pack completed a 61-yard Hail Mary pass with no time left on the clock to snatch a ‘W’ from the Lions’ jaws in what looked like a sure defeat.  I’m a Vikings fan, so it was disappointing to see the Cheeseheads keep pace with the Purple in the division race, but the end of the game was one for the ages.

Of course I’ve updated Football Weblog’s colorful Printable Standings to reflect the game’s result.  Football Weblog’s Printable Standings come in two versions: PDF and PNG. I am not in the running for Coach of the Year in my fantasy football league this season.  This week’s games are already driving that point clearly home.  I started Brandon Marshall and Allen Robinson over Calvin Johnson.  Three Johnson TDs on Thanksgiving Day left ol’ Gil crying in his beer.  Oh well.  Hopefully Marshall and Robinson will have decent games themselves, though not likely to reach the scoring output of Johnson.

At least I have our vibrant Printable Standings to cheer me up!  It’s great hanging up the NFL colors at the office and home, and lets everyone know I’m an NFL fan.

It was an interesting game last night in Foxborough that saw the refs inexplicably blow a sure TD pass from Brady to Amendola dead, and Brady yelling “Rex Ryan! Rex Ryan!” as an audible.  Weird stuff!  In the end, it was the Pats with a 20-13 win over the Bills, extending the Patriots season record to 10-0.

Football Weblog’s vibrant printable standings have been updated with this past weekend’s games, including last night’s Patriot-Bills tilt.  Our standings are a great way to track your favorite team as the season progresses.

A year ago on November 9th marks the first anniversary of the Oregon-Utah game that saw Utah’s receiver Kaelin Clay begin his long “touchdown” reception celebration half a yard early.  If you’ve never seen the play, check it out.  I won’t spoil things trying to describe it – just watch the mind-blowing video. When the ball advances 179 yards on a single play, you know it has to be good!
