There are some fun things going on with the LA Rams lately regarding their uniforms.  They are giving fans an opportunity to vote to help “evolve” their uniforms.  For example, one poll is asking supporters to vote whether their uniform pants will feature a single blue stripe or a double blue stripe.  Another poll is inviting fans to decide the color of the helmet facemask:  blue or white.

The changes slated for the Rams uniforms this coming season are slight, but word has it that a total rebrand will take place when they move into their new home in Inglewood in 2019.  It will be interesting to see what they come up with.

Knocking out this month’s calendar took longer than I thought it would.  You’d think I would learn!  Regardless, I found my ‘two-minute warning zone’ and finished the calendar in the nick of time.

Another Jack Kurzenknabe sketch has made its way to this month’s calendar.  I love this guy’s work!  He always seems to capture the action and spirit of the NFL.  This month’s sketch is of birthday boy Ben Roethlisberger.  He celebrates his 35th birthday on March 2nd.  Congrats, Big Ben!

After an exhaustive computer simulation analysis, Football Weblog is projecting that the New England Patriots will defeat the Atlanta Falcons in Super Bowl LI by the score of 13 to 9.

Ok, so the analysis used was actually a computer game I stumbled across last night called Football for Windows 3.0 — an antiquated, simplistic game released in 1991 by TSOFT.  And the study was far from “exhaustive”.  It might better be described as a boredom-induced activity undertaken while waiting for Super Bowl LI to kickoff.

Hey Cool Cats and Kittens!  Football Weblog’s January 2017 Football Calendar is now available — and we’ve changed the format to make it more modern and pleasing to the eye.  I hope you like it!

When I head back to the office on Tuesday, the first thing I’ll do is print this bad boy out and hang it on my cubicle wall.  I think it’s a great way to show my love for the game of football, and it’s my hope that you’ll feel the same way and will find a home to display it as well.

Fantasy football leagues that schedule games in week 17 are pretty rare nowadays, and for good reason.  NFL teams sit too many of their starters this week trying to keep them rested and healthy for their playoff run.  For those leagues that insist on playing fantasy games in week 17, however, I won’t leave you hanging.  Our cheatsheet is there for you.

The NFL is implementing three tweaks to the 2016 Week 17 (January 1, 2017) schedule.  Changes are as follows:

  • Green Bay vs Detroit will now start at 8:30 PM ET instead of 1:00 PM ET.
  • New Orleans vs Atlanta will now begin at 4:25 PM ET instead of 1:00 PM ET.
  • New York Giants vs Washington will now kickoff at 4:25 PM ET instead of 1:00 PM ET.
