As we approach the gridiron to prepare for the game
Help us remember that we do all in Your name
Please be with us as we take the field
And guide all of our actions and be our shield
We are a team so we all will share
The glory or defeat and always play fair
Guide our feet to move smooth and swift
And when a teammate is down give them a lift
As we block and protect and look down the field for a run or a pass
Remember as Your team we should always show class
As we play strong and hard
And if a penalty is given Let us accept
our mistakes and know we are forgiven
Let our parents be proud of our actions and play
And the fans cheer loud in a respectable way
Help our eyes see the football and the player down field
Through the pass and the run until the touchdown is sealed
When we are tired and leave the field of grass
Let us be thankful for our coaches’ guidance and class
Help us to be good sports and show pride for our team
And be grateful for helping us follow our dream
As always, Run to Daylight!
